Rounders: Running around the post

A very easy to use website with helpful drills to help my players...

DESCRIPTION

Batters can touch but have to run around the outside of the post.

COACHING POINTS

  • Batter has to carry the bat.
  • attempt to reach and touch 4th post with the bat or hand.
  • Posts must be passed on the outside in order 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
  • Batters can halt at any post if they  choose.
  • on reaching the 4th post they shall rejointhe batters.

The batter is in if they touch the base before the fielder does with the ball. This clip shows you a batter doing so.

Bowling a No ball

The bowler should aim to bowl the ball between knee and shoulders of the batter To give the batter the chance to hit it. In this video the bowler bowls the ball to low.

Batter run out

The batter is out if the fielder touches the post immediately ahead with the ball or the hand holding the ball while the batter is running to the post and before the batter has touched the post, except first post in case of a no-ball.

Run out at first post

This clip shows you the batter being run out at first post. The batter has struck at a good bowl but missed the ball and has to run to first post. The back stop having caught the ball throws the ball to the first post player who catches and touches the post with the ball before the batter reaches the same post.
