Netball Skills: Developing players speed and agility whilst demonstrating spatial awareness

In the fast-paced game of netball it is important for players to have not only good speed and agility, but also to be spatially aware, knowing where their teammates and opposition players are at all times.

What?s in the Session?

The session commences with a fun challenging warm-up placing the shooters and other teammates in direct competition. This warm-up will encourage your player?s to push themselves, and the shooters will be put under considerable pressure. The session progresses to focus on your player?s footwork and movement, ensuring they maintain a narrow foot base in order to be able to react and move off quickly. ?Speed and agility passing? allow your players to put into practice what they have developed, ensuring they are aware of one another, the space and the defenders in order to successfully get the ball through court. The session concludes with a modified game of netball, with certain conditions placed upon the game to get your players demonstrating what they have learnt.

Your player?s should work hard for the team, ensuring they keep changing direction to get free and offer for the ball. Your players should also work together as a unit, making sure they are spatially aware so they are not taking each others space.
