Attacking Set Plays - Use the Centre Pass

This Attacking Session works on the centre pass - moving the ball down the spine of the court through your central play-maker. Regardless of whether you're a fan of set plays or not this is a passing session you shouldn't overlook.

Coaches vary in their attitude towards set plays because they're a fairly rigid way of playing. Some like them and some don't - they're the Marmite of the netball world. However, at Sportplan we believe that coaching set plays is a useful tool for your players to have in their arsenal, teaching fluid and fast ball progression... consider the set play to be your team's Plan A. Of course, it's always good to have a plan B as well.

What's in the Session?

We start this session with some speedy passing warm-up exercises - getting players to run and move to receive the pass before then progressing onto a set of three fast-ball progression drills - making sure all your players know where to go and when to draw defenders out of position and open up gaps on court.

Try this session with your team today and get them all to bring their A game to their next match!
